Hello lovelies! I thought I would write a post on a couple of my favourite natural skincare treatments you can try out on yourself at home.
Olive Oil & Sea Salt Exfoliator
2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
1 tablespoon of coarse sea salt
Pop the ingredients onto a plate and mix well. Apply to your whole face and massage in very gently. The sea salt should be coarse and will prep your face nicely for a mask by removing dead skin cells! Extra virgin olive oil contains vitamins A and E to help repair and renew skin and shouldn’t leave your skin feeling greasy. Remove by splashing your face in warm water and gently wiping a clean, damp cloth across your skin.
Honey & Cinnamon Facemask
1 or 2 tablespoons of honey
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
This is my absolute favourite. It may look revolting but these ingredients have incredible healing properties, as well as the ability to help prevent blemishes in future. It’s also very gentle; one of the cheapest and most effective treatments for your skin!
Mix the ingredients together in a bowl until the mixture forms into a deep, auburn paste. Apply by dabbing gently over your face and liberally over enlarged pores or blemishes. Leave for 10 minutes; the mixture might drip, so wear an old t-shirt and stay away from expensive carpets!! Remove with a clean, damp cloth before splashing your face with cold water to rinse and close pores.
Your face should feel and look incredibly clean, with a well-balanced skintone and smaller pores. I think there’s a lot to be said for using natural ingredients within your skincare routine; as desirable as branded products are, they can often be harsh on sensitive skins. If you’re on a budget or simply looking to give your skin a break, treatments such as these are the way to go!
Have you tried any of these treatments? I would love to hear what you thought of them and please do share if you have any natural methods of your own!
